Product Applications
Following are the major fields that uses dry silica sand:

Metal Casting
For the ferrous and nonferrous foundry industry, industrial sand is the most important part. The dry silica sand is moulded to achieve the external shape. Metal parts are cast into the sand. Core sands can be mechanically recycled to produce new cores or moulds. Metal parts need SiO2 for their strength.

Dry Mix & Construction
For all the wide varieties of building and construction products, dry silica sand is the primary component. Ground silica works as a functional extender to add durability and anti-corrosion. For epoxy-based compounds, sealants, and waterproofing, it works like magic. In flooring compounds, mortar, cement, roofing tiles, non-shrink grout, and dry silica sand are often used. It affects the mechanical properties of the binding system.

Paint & Coating
To improve the appearance and durability of any kind of architectural and industrial paint and coatings, dry silica sand is used. Paint formulators always select micron-sized sand. High-purity silica sand is able to contribute critical performances in properties like brightness and reflectance, colour consistency, and oil absorption. It is also used in architectural paints. Silica fillers are able to improve tint retention, durability, and resistance to dirt, mildew, cracking, and weathering. Low oil absorption always allows increased pigment loading and improves the finish colour.

Filtration & Water Production
For the filtration of drinking water, the processing of wastewater, and the production of water from wells, dry silica sand is used. Silica gravel is something that is used as packing material in deep water wells. Grain size distributions are also very necessary for efficient filtration bed operations.

Sports & Recreation
Silica sand is widely used in sports surfaces to improve performance, safety, and durability. It acts as infill in artificial turf to stabilize fibres, enhances drainage and reduces compaction in natural grass fields, and provides a consistent, well-drained surface for golf bunkers, equestrian arenas, and beach courts, ensuring reliable playability with low dust and long-lasting results.
